The jumper was specially designed by Alkina Wilkinson (@alkinacreations), a proud Yorta Yorta woman.
The gathering circles represent the indigenous people of the land showing their physical and spiritual connection. The gathering circles also represent the Club and indigenous people sitting together, yarning, learning and sharing culture; signifying reconciliation.
The background represents the water ways of the Wurundjeri people. The Yarra River is also known as the Birrarung.
Bunjil the Wedge-Tail Eagle is the totem of the Wurundjeri people and is the Creator spirit. Gum leaves present the Manna Gum overlooking the University Main Oval and gum trees significance to the indigenous people of the land, and how they use gum leaves within their cultural practices. Boomerangs represent the resilience of the Wurundjeri people. The pattern inside the blue chevron represents oven mounds, ochre and more water ways.
